Locked Out by ashwara Locked Out by ashwara
She forgets her keys a lot.

Trying to figure out how to draw modern settings. This is based off my apartment, ha ha.

Its also great that in your country, you have a safe and trusting environment. Here in Malaysia, we have to have at least a wooden door with locked door knob, doubled up protection with iron gate and THEN, at a distance, after the lawn, there's be fences/wall with a bigger gate. Every window at out house (esp something like yours from the pic) will be cast with iron bars. I kid you not.

I'm not trying to say Malaysia's not a safe place to stay but, the chances of people getting locked in between their gates and wooden door is ... super high. LOL! Yes, I've had friends who locked themselves in between ... and so did I. LOL!

Ha ha! What could happen in Malaysia? Are people attacked often? It depends on where you go, but I don't live in a particularly dangerous part of the city.

I don't think we have the land mass for all those gates. Ha ha ha, how did you guys lock yourself between? That's a good story... you should draw that image. Ha ha.

No, some people just likes to break in and steal stuff. We even lose shoes and clothes here if they're outside of the house. It's like... the whole country is a ghetto area. ^^; Or we just don't trust our neighbors and strangers as much. Haha!

ROFL! My friend actually drew him locked in between once. I laughed at him. Then after a year or two, it happened to me. It's like a Malaysian curse o sumthin. LOL! Hmm... lets say, it's much more likely to happen in a high-rise apartment or condo. There's a short walkway between the wooden door of the house and the gate to the outside world. XD You lock the wooden door, u don't have the keys, you'll not be able to turn back. Maybe I should draw it someday to explain further. LOL!

Ahah, it's like that in some places here! I couldn't leave my bike unlocked in the city, for example. People love stealing those.

That's such a funny thing to happen to someone, ha ha ha. If you ever draw it show me!

HAHA! That reminds me of the worst side of Malaysian habits. XD Some kids used to park bikes and lock the bike's body to some railing at train stations or somethin'. Those thieves would come and remove whatever they can from the bike and leave whatever that's locked dangling at the railing. LOL! Like, they'll remove both your tyres and chairs and peddles and seat. =_= yes, they're that pathetic.

Shure XD

Oy, people do that a lot here as well! It's quite sad to see a bike in pieces like that, ha ha... well, you just have to use the right kind of locks and you'll probably be ok! Might be even worse there though. People are crazy! Actually, i did in fact have my bike stolen once.

Or.. lock it at a better place. :P

Actually, in all honesty, I would prefer if my bike went missing - like the whole thing. If I find my bike in pieces, I really wouldn't know how to feel. LOL! It's like, u have ur bike there, but not all of it. And then, "should I take the rest home?"

Yes, that too! I lock it in places with less foot traffic.

I agree though- then again, when the bike goes missing completely there's always more of a question of what could have happened to it. It's very mysterious. But, it's almost more discouraging when you see pieces of it.

The loose lines are so cute! Something about that and the colors make this almost look like a still from an animation.

There's no worse feeling than being locked out, though :(

Yeah! I wasn't going for that at first but towards the end I was like "oh yeah!"

Your'e right. Even worse is when you lose your key. Forgetting it inside is one thing, but when you lose it somewhere else... that's just awful.

the way you've caught the shine of the sunlight is incredible.
i like that you've kept the loose hand-drawn lines.
perspective is also A+. especially with the railings and the stairs and foundation of the house.
keep up the good work
