I was reading about Future Boy Conan en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_B… and learned that it was based on this book, The Incredible Tide, by Alexander Key  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Incr….

Curious, I looked it up, to discover that was out of print, but then I found a site that had scanned the book among other out of print books.  Now, that's great by itself,  but what I found really charming was some things the creator wrote on the site, for instance:

"Mom’s worried I’ll get sued for this.  I simply can’t imagine… I’m not stealing a cent from anybody far as I can tell and if I’m mistaken surely a potential suer would see I’m a decent person and warn me before going after my money.  And yet I realize there are people out there who would not care to be reasonable or kind but would try and get money from me just because they could.  Thinking about this makes me feel sort of lonely."

The way the write sounds so sincere and kind of old fashioned. "I really need people to download the .docs and read through for typos.  That’d be a big help, honest truth."

Ha ha, I dunno.  I enjoy finding these kinds of things.
