It's not really a tutorial! They should have a "this is only kind of a tutorial" section.

I was showing this to some of my friends as I worked on it and then I thought "hey maybe I can save a few versions and then show the step by step." I don't know how many of you are in to this kind of thing but yeah! It was fun to write anyways.

Doing your values and colors as roughs and then merging them together is a neat idea. I like how this piece turned out, and it's very cool to see the finished result.

Very cool, I really want to get into some digital painting, but I wasn't sure how to go about it since I usually end up isolating my colors while worrying over accuracy of the shading.

The value and color roughs are GENIUS!!!

This is really great to see. I'm so hit and miss with my coloring, it's always helpful to me to see how other people approach it. I think I'm going to have to start using your value step. I really messed up my latest coloring endeavor, so I think I might go back in and try it your way. Thanks so much for sharing!
